Check Dell's site. You almost certainly need drivers for the SCSI and a
BIOS update.

I've just done the initial windows update and rebooted and all of a sudden
the extra drive is visible!!! (that was the 4th reboot). So now downloading
SP1.
The 40GB SCSI drive with the OS on is stil...

Dell Workstation 210 MT BIOS A08, SCSI is an expansion card plugged into the
motherboard fitted by Dell.

The drive has been used as an ordinary storage drive with two partitions on
it using windows xp pro. I reformatted it and decided to use it as the boot
drive with a new installation of windows server...

What make is the server? Whats the mother board and whats the BIOS? Is the
SCSI controller onboard to the mother board or a seperate card? Whats the

Checkthe jumpers on the drive itself... Some have certain settings that
"clip" the size of the space that can be addressed....
